Laura Story’s fifth studio record, Open Hands, is filled with the message of hope. Story’s effort focuses on letting go and encouraging listeners to trust God through hard times. The title track with Third Day frontman Mac Powell beautifully expresses the surrender theme and is probably the best of the album.
Story also refreshes a couple old hymns “Awake My Soul (1000 Tongues)” and “For the Love of My King” with original choruses. The last song, “Grace Abounds,” offers hope even in the middle of difficult challenges such as terror attacks, injustice, and racial tension. This album features solid Christ-like lyrics in a strong worship style. (Fair Trade)
