Thirty members of CrossPoint Christian Reformed Church in Brampton, Ontario, laced up their walking shoes recently in an effort to ease the impact of AIDS on families and communities. The congregation’s walk-a-thon raised $4,167 for the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee’s Embrace AIDS campaign.
“As Christians we’re responsible to care for others,” said Pat Alblas, who participated in the walk. Alblas said that in addition to raising funds for AIDS, the event was a good way to engage the community.
